How I Approach Counselling

As a counsellor I believe every individual has immeasurable value and the ability to grow, build resilience and gain tools to better cope with life’s circumstances and challenges. I recognise that it is an honour to be trusted by clients with their life story and that when an individual experiences love and acceptance they are enabled to move towards growth and change.

I am committed to creating a safe place for clients to experience unconditional positive regard, respect and kindness. I utilise different modalities including person-centred counselling, emotion focused counselling and solution focused brief therapy.

My counselling approach involves:

  • Creating a safe place for counselling
  • Helping my clients understand and work through their emotional experiences
  • Empowering clients through a process of self-discovery and awareness, leading to new perspectives of self and others
  • Empowering clients with the ability to decide the focus of therapy
  • Confidentiality and privacy will be maintained at all times

Professional Background

I have worked with an international Christian organisation for the last 20 years in which I have had the opportunity to lead and journey alongside hundreds of individuals from around the world in their pursuit of spiritual formation, restoration and growth.

I have been trained as a crisis response debriefer and have led seminars training others in this area as well, and have led a ministry and school with a focus on human trafficking, slavery and prostitution.
