How I approach Counselling and Psychotherapy

My counselling draws on my belief that each client’s treatment needs to be individualised to his or her unique history, culture, values, strengths and needs.

I believe in creating a safe supportive and non-judgmental environment in which the client will be treated with respect and confidentiality. It is in this collaborative therapeutic environment that the client is supported in finding their value, healing and strength in resolving their struggles and pain.

My counselling draws on an integrated approach in the understanding and training in different psychological theories and modalities.

These various modalities include:

  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Interpersonal Process Model and Therapy
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Emotion-focussed Therapy
  • Solution Focussed Theory
  • Family Systems Theory
  • Attachment Theory

I am passionate about my role as the counsellor to support and assist my clients in resolving their stress and life challenges.  My hope is that their counselling experience is an opportunity of healing and growth.

My sincere wish is for my clients to leave the counselling process changed and equipped with new skills to approach their future with confidence and resilience.

Other background & Fees

I have always wanted to return to the field of Mental Health and further my studies. My life experiences of a Nursing background, immigration to Australia, marriage and parenting have humbled, grown and changed me and I am now ready to support others through their life journey challenges.

I started my Master of Counselling training at Morling College in July 2017. I am working to complete my training and practicum in 2020. I am an intern at Bridges Counselling and offer counselling free of charge as part of my student practicum intern requirements.
