Josh has over 12 years experience working with adolescents and their families as a school chaplain and youth pastor. He has supported teens and families through anxiety, depression, eating disorders and gender issues. He is especially passionate and equipped for integrating spirituality and faith with mental health in young people.
Life is harder than it looks on the surface - even if that’s all we normally show each other. When someone really needs to be heard and understood, it is such an honour to be there with them, listening… and it is a wonderful thing to help bring healing and joy into their life.
I have worked as a Youth Minister in the Sydney Anglican Church for 12 years. This has given me a breadth of experience caring for teens and their families through diverse mental, emotional and spiritual issues. I have cared for teens and families experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and gender issues. Alongside this, I have 4 years experience as a school chaplain working with students from kindergarten to year 12. As you can see, I have first hand experience of life in Australian schools, and the unique challenges faced by students in the modern world.
In addition to a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours, with University Medal), I have completed an Adv. Diploma in Theology through Anglican YouthWorks Bible College, and am a candidate for ordination in the Sydney Anglican Church. I am passionate about bringing psychology into harmony with faith and spirituality for my clients.
