Amy Garis
Professional Experience
Much of my experience has involved assessment and psychological intervention around generalised anxiety, social anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use, stress, adjustment, workplace issues, and relational difficulties.
I have worked to assist those seeking employment within the Department of Human Services and so have developed strong vocational skills. In addition, I have worked within private practice settings.
Before working as a psychologist, I trained and worked as a professional actor. This has uniquely placed me to work with highly creative individuals.
Faith-based Experience
In my professional and personal relationships, I work hard to be sensitive and respectful of people’s deeply held values around culture, identity and meaning in life. I am open to work inclusively with people of all faiths and belief systems.
